Part 5:  The Desolated Earth
11.  Who will not go to Heaven?
“Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,  Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.”  Galatians 5:19-21  For further study see Matthew 25:43 and Revelation 21:27.

12.  Where will the unrighteous go?
“But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished.” Revelation 20:5a
“And the slain of the Lord shall be at that day from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth: they shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried; they shall be dung upon the ground.”  Jeremiah 25:33  For further study see 1 Thessalonians 5:3.

Note:  At Christ’s second coming all the righteous will go to heaven but all the wicked will sleep the sleep of death.  For further information about death see the study titled “Death”.

13.  What is the condition of the earth at this time?
“I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light.  I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly.  I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled.  I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the Lord, and by his fierce anger.”  Jeremiah 4:23-26  For further study see Joel 1:15 and Isaiah 24:3.

14.  Where is the devil at this time?
“And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand…. And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.”  Revelation 20:1,3  For further study see Jude 6.

Note:  What is the bottomless pit?  The bottomless pit is a dark empty space.  This is how the earth is described before it was formed and how it will be during the millennium.  See Genesis 1:2 and Jeremiah 4:23.

15.  How long will the devil stay in the bottomless pit?
“And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,”  Revelation 20:2
