This study wont make since unless you first understand what death is and what happens when Christ returns. If you haven’t gone through those Bible studies yet I encourage you to do so.

Part 1: The Two Resurrections
1. How many resurrections are there?
“Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.” John 5:28-29 For further study see Daniel 12:2 and Acts 24:15.

2. When are the righteous raised?
“But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.” Revelation 20:5-6 For further study see 1 Thessalonians 4:16.

3. When are the wicked raised?
“But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished….And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.” Revelation 20:5a,13 For further study see Job 14:12.

Note: The righteous dead are raised from the dead at Christ’s second coming and experience a thousand year reign with Christ while the wicked are raised at the end of the thousand years to receive their eternal punishment. Hell in this verse comes from the word hades and refers to the grave or the unseen place.
