Part 4: The Wicked
8. What will the world be like when Jesus comes?
“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, truce breakers, false accusers, incontinent**, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.” 2 Timothy 3:1-5 (For further study see 2 Timothy 3:13 and 2 Timothy 4:3-4.)
9. What will the Wicked be doing?
“They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.” Luke 17:27-30 (For further study see Matthew 24:37-39.)
Note: Have we not all heard the excuse: I am too busy. I cannot take that extra day off. I have no time for God. The Devil has had 6,000 years to perfect his temptations. Today we have the added distraction of T.V., video games, and internet. It is not a sin to eat, drink, marry, buy, sell, plant, or build. They become sins when they become more important then having a relationship with God. They become idols. “The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.” Isaiah 40:8.
10. How will the wicked respond to Christ’s return?
“And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?” Revelation 6:15-17 (For further study see Revelation 1:7.)
11. What will happen to the wicked?
“But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.” 2 Peter 3:10
“And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:” 2 Thessalonians 2:8
