Part 1: Heaven
1. Where did Jesus go when He left earth?
“For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:” Hebrews 9:24 For further study see Psalm 11:4 and Psalm 115:3.
Note: The term “heaven” simply means sky. It includes the earth’s atmosphere, space, and the heavenly kingdom. The very definition tells us where God’s kingdom is.
2. Where has Jesus promised to take us when He returns?
“In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” John 14:3 For further study see 2 Corinthians 5:1 and 1 Peter 1:4.
3. What has God prepared for His people?
“But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.” Hebrews 11:16 For further study see Matthew 25:34 and 1 Corinthians 2:9.
Note: This city is called “Zion” by Isaiah, “New Jerusalem” by John the revelater and “Holy Habitation” by David. See Isaiah 33:20; Revelation 3:12 and Psalms 68:5. The people of God have long waited for this heavenly city and yet through the eye of faith we can see it.
