Part 2: The Ten Commandments
6. What if we break a portion of the law?
“For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law. ” James 2:10-11
“For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.” Matthew 5:17 (For further study see Galatians 3:10.)
7. What are the commandments? See Exodus 20
1. “Thou shalt have no other gods before me.” Exodus 20:3 (For further study see Genesis 35:2 and 1 Corinthians 8:5-6.)
2. “Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.” Exodus 20:4 (For further study see Psalms 96:5 and Acts 17:29.)
3. “Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.” Exodus 20:7 (For further study see Leviticus 18:21,24,27 and James 5:12.)
4. “Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.” Exodus 20:8-11 (For further study see Genesis 2:1-4 and Acts 18:4.)
5. “Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.” Exodus 20:12 (For further study see Deuteronomy 5:6 and Ephesians 6:2.)

8. “Thou shalt not steal.” Exodus 20:15 (For further study see Leviticus 19:11 and Ephesians 4:28)
9. “Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.” Exodus 20:16 (For further study see Leviticus 19:11 and Revelation 22:14-15.)
10. “Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour’s.” Exodus 20:17 (For further study see Exodus 18:21 and Luke 12:15.)
