Love Works Part 2

Part 1:  The Judge
1.  By what are we judged?
“But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God; Who will render to every man according to his deeds:”  Romans 2:5-6
“And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.”  Revelation 20:12 (For further study see  Proverbs 24:12 and Revelation 20:13)

2.  Who is the Judge?
“Before the Lord: for he cometh, for he cometh to judge the earth: he shall judge the world with righteousness, and the people with his truth.”  Psalms 96:13
“The Lord standeth up to plead, and standeth to judge the people.”  Isaiah 3:13  (For further study see 1 Corinthians 4:4 and John 5:22)

Note: The Lord is not only a judge but our advocate.  He pleads in our behalf.

3.  How does God judge us?
“Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.”  1 Corinthians 4:5
“If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it? and he that keepeth thy soul, doth not he know it? and shall not he render to every man according to his works?”  Proverbs 24:12  (For further study see Revelation 2:23 and Romans 2:5)

4. How sinful are we?
“This is an evil among all things that are done under the sun, that there is one event unto all: yea, also the heart of the sons of men is full of evil, and madness is in their heart while they live, and after that they go to the dead.”  Ecclesiastes 9:3
“But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.  For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:”  Matthew 15:18-19 (For further study see Mark 7:21 and Matthew 12:34-35)
