Part 2:  Disobedience
5.  What did God say would be the result of disobedience?
“But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.”  Genesis 2:17

6.  Who beguiled** Eve?
“But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled** Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.”  2 Corinthians 11:3
“Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?…  And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. ”  Genesis 3: 1,6

7.  Who is the serpent?
“And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.”  Revelation 12:9  (For further study see Revelation 20:2)

8.  What did the serpent say would not be the result of disobedience?
“And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:”  Genesis 2:4.

9.  What did the serpent say would be the result of disobedience?
“For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.”  Genesis 3:5

Note:  “And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever: ”  (Genesis 3:22)  Adam and Eve already had knowledge of good.  By partaking of the forbidden fruit they gained a knowledge of evil.
