Part 1:  Introduction

1.  What did Jesus promise to send us?
“But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:”  John 15:26  (For further study see John 16:7 and John 20:22.)

2.  What must we pay to receive the Holy Ghost*?
“God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?”  Hebrews 2:4  (For further study see Romans 5:5.)

3.  What must we do to receive this gift?

a)  Ask
“Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:”  Acts 8:15
“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:”  Matthew 7:7
“Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.”  John 16:24

b)  Have Faith
“That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.”  Galatians 3:14  (For further study see John 7:39.)

4.  When we receive the Holy Spirit, where will He dwell?
“But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.”  Romans 8:9  (For further study see 1 Corinthians 3:16.)
